Great picture, Graham. I was grateful for your notes on converting Lima hoppers into SR ones (https://sremg.org.uk/model/lima-sea-to-40t-hop.html) – have you tried it since with the Bachmann ones? And how many loaded hoppers were typical from Exeter in the early 1960s? I have a lovely shot of 30523 heading a ballast train towards Salisbury, but I don’t have a feel for what a prototypical load would have been – most grateful for any thoughts.
Thank you,
Toby
I’ve never modified Bachmann versions as I have enough already. The Maximum load of 40t hoppers was 10.
