The Merchant Navy Locomotive Preservation Society (MNLPS), the owners and operators of Bulleid Merchant Navy Pacific 35028 ‘Clan Line’, have announced the production by Bachmann of their support coach the BR Mk2 BFK Mercator!
350278 ‘Clan Line’ was withdrawn from BR service on 5th July 1967, a few days before the final end of steam on the Southern Region and became owned by the MNLPS on the 13th August that year.
She is certainly on of Bulleid’s finest and has always been the best, superbly turned out, and most reliable of any preserved main line running steam engines ever, a total credit to the entire team at the MNLPS.
Produced in partnership with Bachmann Europe, the Exclusive model of ‘Clan Line’ The Golden Arrow Engine’s support coach, the BR Mk2 BFK Mercator will faithfully capture the pseudo-Pullman livery carried as part of the Belmond British Pullman train.
A fully decorated sample is not yet available, but the livery artwork has been fully checked over by the team at the MNLPS.
The model costs £74.95 plus postage and is available Exclusively from the The Merchant Navy Locomotive Preservation Society for pre-order, for delivery in Q3/Q4 2026 here.
Don’t miss out – this is one for every Southern main line steam and Pullman enthusiast’s collection especially if you already have a Hornby model of 35028 Clan Line.

A most welcome addition to thir range and excellent support for the Merchant Navy Locomotive Preservation Society!
