Stop Press and Great News: Bulleid Merchant Navy Pacific 35006 Peninsular & Oriental S. N. Co., was steamed today, 10th August 2015, at the Society’s members day and moved under her own power for the time in 51 years!

Most of its fittings and the tender had already been removed by then to be used for other rescued members of the class so the group were faced with an enormous challenge. But the restoration has been carried out with painstaking precision and so the emotion and delight at seeing the engine move with a deafening expulsion of steam from the cylinder drain cocks was palpable.
