The annual model Wishlist Poll takes a holiday this year

Usually kicking off in October each year  the annual Wishlist poll is however taking a break for 2017, but should be back in 2018.

The Poll Team have advised that the short break will be helpful as the results of the last few years have been pretty consistent and  that some manufacturers are still in a bit of a ‘catch up’ mode with some of their already announced plans.  The poll has in the past been a useful indicator of what might appear in the manufacturers plans as since last years poll 15 new items have been announced in ’00’  alone, including many SR / BRs related as reported on this blog.  For example: of those 15 items announced 12 have been from the high polling segment, and the other 3 from the middle polling segment. Five of the items polled in the overall top 50.

The Poll Team aim to run the poll again next year by which time we will, no doubt, have further new announcements from manufacturers such as Hornby and Bachmann / Graham Farish, at the likes of the Warley National Model railway exhibition (25/26th November) and ,as is now custom, in January next year, which I am sure will include items to please us SR / BRs modellers that we would have been once again voting for anyway, so watch this space…
