The model railway world and mainly Southern Railway meanderings of Graham 'Muz' Muspratt and occassional guests
What an excellent start to July!
A lovely scene enhanced by the signals. Can you give some information about their construction, please?
Thanks. See here https://southern-railway.com/2013/09/30/a-view-from-the-line-12-the-pressure-of-signalling-the-line/
what a super pic!
Just like being there. The only sad thing is that the train is taking holidaymakers back to Waterloo, and not away to start their holidays!
There could be trouble if it’s going into platform 3, it might meet a Bristol train coming the other way
It’s correctly signalled into platform 2 the main SR up platform, the lower left arm is for platform 1 (usually used by eastbound GWR services). Platforms 3 and 4 were the down platforms.
Great shot, Graham! What’s does the train consist of after the PMV?
a mix of Bulleids and mostly Maunsells
Only Bulleid’s in that rake. See here for more details https://southern-railway.com/2014/01/10/talking-stock-27-4mm-bulleid-coaches-new-r-t-r-on-the-way/
After the safe fitted PLV (to use the SR term) It is Bulleid three coach L set 771 and a two coach R set 63.
The PLV is a modified Parkside kit to add the safe and the Bulleid coaches are BSL/Phoenix kits.

Showing post-WW2 track alignment standards ? That much realism . . . ?
