Canute Road Quay is on the road again and appearing at two exhibitions the next two consecutive weekends.
As part of this year’s Railway 200 celebrations, Alstom’s historic Derby Litchurch Lane Works is ho0sting the largest temporary gathering of trains and rail-related exhibits in a generation – The Greatest Gathering – between Friday 1st and Sunday 3rd August. I am honoured and excited that Canute Road Quay has been selected to be part of the event’s ‘Model Village’,.

I will be attending along with friend, Simon Paley’s excellent modern image layout ‘Collingwood’. His layout is one of the best portrayals of the modern Southern 3rd rail scene on the exhibition circuit today. Being a Principal Signalling designer by profession his attention to signalling and lineside details is spot on, although see if you can spot my input on his layout…
I appreciate that many will not be able to attend this event, as the all ticket event, (12,500 tickets for each day!) sold out very quickly, If you are one of the lucky ones who got tickets, I look forward to seeing you there.

The following Saturday 9th August Canute Road Quay will be at the Bexhill Model Railway Club – St Richard’s Catholic College, Ashdown Road. Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex TN40 1SE. Despite a lack of a harbour or docks, Bexhill makes an appropriate seaside location for Canute Road Quay in the heart of Southern Railway territory.
Please come along and support Bexhill Model Railway Club’s ‘local’ show and say hello.
