Kernow Model Centre announce an additional O2 livery variant

Further to my post here last week exclusively announcing that the Cads for the Kernow Model Centre ex LSWR O2 class have been signed off for tooling, they have today announced a further livery variant.

In response to demand they have added a Southern Maunsell lined green liveried model as number 207 fitted with pull-push gear (Kernow Model Centre reference item no. K2107 ).  You can place your pre-orders through their website here

Number 207 gained its Pull push gear, along with class members 182, 183, 187 & 255 between Oct 1931 & Sept 1933 and remained in this  livery until the early 1940’s when wartime restrictions meant she was outshopped in unlined SR Black . For completeness number 207  was  later renumbered 30207 in repainted in lined British railways black black in 8/49 and was finally withdrawn in June 1957.

  1. Ah, I was under the impression that the previous SR version was in 1940s wartime black, have I got this wrong. If they are applicable to 1930s I will be ordering them!

  2. Graham,

Thanks for that news, I was sorely disappointed that the Maunsell era lined green had been left out, so the news that 207 will appear in that livery means Kernow will be getting an order from me soon … now should I order the ‘Gate stock’ as well … ?

  3. Graham,

Are they considering any further Isle of Wight variants? Very-early-BR Malachite suited them so well…

    Thanks,

    Nick

    1. Hi Nick

Obliviously there is a limit to the variations that Kernow Model Centre can justify / afford in a first batch I am sure other liveries will be announced in the future.

  4. I’m surprised that they haven’t offered a Bullied Sunshine green variant, which could be done in both SR and BR markings.

    1. Hi Ashley

As I have just replied to Nick below there is a limit to the variations that Kernow Model Centre can justify / afford in a first batch I am sure other liveries will be announced in the future.

They are releasing a mainland version version as number 225 in SR black with Bulleid Sunshine lettering that is shaded in green. No mainland version gained malachite green but remained after the war in black but with lining in BR days.
