Two weekends and two layouts on the road, Canute Road Quay and Fisherton Sarum

OK so I am going to refrain from using the bus analagy… oh dam.. I just might have… oh well! The next couple of weekends sees firstly Canute Road Quay making an appearance at the the Hornby Magazing Great Electric Train Show over the weekend of 12/13th October and secondly the Saturday after, 19th October,  Fisherton Sarum is making currently its last booked show appearance at the Beckenham and West Wickham MRC exhibition, (that’s not to say it will be the last exhibition outing, but just that I haven’t any other bookings for it and I haven’t been pushing it too much whilst I have Canute Road Quay to play with).

A USA tank shunts at Canute Road Quay

The Hornby Magazine Great Electric Train Show on the 12th and 13th October, is again for its second year being held at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes which is a much larger venue enabling wider aisles and better circulation around the layouts. Canute Road Quay featured in the April ’19 issue of Hornby Magazine and will be located with the magazines own area within the show along with the magazines own West Coast Cement layout. Also at the show is friend, modeller, soon to be published author and often found operating Canute Road Quay and / or Fisherton Sarum (but not at this show obvisoulsy) Simon Paley with his splendid Norwood Road layout set in south London representing the current scene.
The Marshall Arena is at Stadium MK, Stadium Way, Milton Keynes, MK1 1ST and is open to the public 10am-5pm on Saturday and from 10am-4pm on Sunday. Further details can be found on the dedicated website for the show here. Free parking is available at the venue and for those arriving by rail, a free shuttle bus will be running half-hourly from 9am between Milton Keynes Central station and the Great Electric Train Show.

Drummond 0-4-4T M7 No. 243 has just shunted the ash wagon for filling by the gang.

Once again it will be good to exhibit Fisherton Sarum within Southern Railway territory even not quite the South Western section. The Beckenham and West Wickham MRC on the 19th October is being held at the St John’s Church, Eden Park Avenue, Beckenham, Kent BR3 3JN.  It wil l be open to the public between 10am and 5pm and will have at least eleven other layouts on show along with trade support at this pleasent show.  Further details can be found here on the Beckenham and West Wickham MRC website

As always if you are planning on coming along to either show please drop by and say hello, it is always a pleasure to meet and chat with readers of this blog.
