As per my Happiness is the road… or… Canute Road Quay hits a lot of road… post back at the start of the year the five show appearances ranging from Alton and Thruxton to York and Perth in Scotland along with this last show of the year in Worthing will have totalled in excess of 2000 miles.
Canute Road Quay will be once again returning to our friends Worthing Model Railway Club on 26th & 27th September at their new show venue of St Andrews School, Sackville Rd, Worthing BN14 8BG
It is always pleasure to exhibit at this show as the previous Worthing MRC club president, Dave Kent, is a friend and also a past member of the High Wycombe & District MRS. He will hate me for saying this, as I know he reads this blog, but when I joined the Society at the tender age of 15, *cough* years ago, he took me under his wing so to speak, working on the scenery for the Societies then large 00 layout ‘Hillingdon Court’. Dave is an exceptional modeller, I learnt a lot from him, and some of you may well have seen his excellent SR third rail layout Ashington (featured in the November 2007 issue of Hornby Magazine) which is still on the exhibition circuit under new ownership.
I first exhibited at the Worthing show in 2015 with Fisherton Sarum and Canute Road Quay‘s first appearance in 2018 and the last time with Simon’s Collingwood layout in 2024.
I look forward to the show and what the new venue brings, if you are planning to attend, as always please drop by Canute Road Quay and say hello.
