As I reported here Kernow Model Rail Centre have, along with Gaugemaster, The Winchester Railway Modellers and exceptional EMU Modeller Dan Havlik united to help raise funds for the ongoing preservation and operation of Southern Electric Traction Group (SETG) heritage 4-Vep EMU 3417 ‘Gordon Pettitt’, the only preserved and mainline-registered Electric Multiple Unit in the UK, by producing unique 00 gauge models of 3417.

The Ebay auction of the first of the three models is currently live here and will end at 4pm on Sunday 29th June, the second one to go live on Ebay from 5pm, also on Sunday 29th June, an hour after the conclusion of the first one and this one will run for 7 days ending at 5pm on Sunday 6th July.
The models will be on display by Dan Havlik at Bluebell Railway Model Railway Weekend event this weekend 28th/29th June, along with a display of his other expectational EMU modelling.
The fundraising for Southern Electric Traction Group (SETG) heritage 4-Vep EMU 3417 ‘Gordon Pettitt’ will continue at the Chatham and District MRS exhibition show at the Chatham Dockyard show on 19th & 20th July. Dan Havlik will be joined by two other skilled modellers: South-West Max (who models modern day South Western Railway & South-West Trains Units) and Stuart Pearce (who models early British Rail), collaborating on a 16ft combined stand, showcasing a Southern Region Spectacular featuring EMUs from the 1960s through to the present day including a 4SUB, 4DD, 5BEL, 4VEPs, 4REPs, 4EPBs, 3 & 4CIGs, through to 455s, 450s, 444s, 458s and 465s. It is here they will host the raffle for the 4TCs donated by Kernow and any other models/memorabilia available.

It is a chance to own some unique models, and all the funds raised go into getting 3417 back on the mainline again.
I will be also attending the Chatham and District MRS exhibition helping operate Simon Paley’s excellent modern image layout ‘Collingwood’. His layout is one of the best portrayals of the modern Southern 3rd rail scene on the exhibition circuit today. Being a Principal Signalling designer by profession his attention to signalling and lineside details is spot on, although see if you can spot my input on his layout…
We all hope to see you there.
