Picture of the Month – May 2015 This months picture… Bulleid Merchant Navy class 35023 ‘Holland-Afrika Line’ has just been coaled and sits along side Bulleid Leader class 36001 on shed following a trial run from Eastleigh. I was born and brought up in Bognor Regis. 36001 was hidden away in the engine shed which was demolished in the 1950’s just before I took an interest in the location by standing on the saddle of my bicycle and watching excursion locos turning on the surviving turntable.
That’s a lovely shot. I really like the figures in the scene, they really bring it to life!
I have admired this model railway since I first saw it in print. This latest picture doesn’t change that view at all. One day I hope to ‘see it in the flesh ‘.
